Robert Johnson recorded only 29 songs, all original compositions. Nearly half of them were never released during his lifetime, and until Columbia Records re-issued them in LP form, they were only available through bootleg recordings of the rare 78's.

For many years the LP's were unavailable until finally a box set of his complete
29 recordings and 12 alternates were
released in October 1990. This introduced
a new generation to Johnson's genius.
This box set made the Billboard 'pop'
charts, went platinum and won a Grammy.
